Comment 1 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-09-15 04:01:26 UTC
Have you run python-updater, like - ever?
Comment 2 Dead Schorsch 2005-09-15 04:06:15 UTC
I did, but it does only perform the update trail from 2.3 to 2.4.
Comment 3 Dead Schorsch 2005-09-15 04:07:13 UTC
Ah, I see I can define old and new version by command line args. I'll give it a
try, suspend the bug until response.
Comment 4 Dead Schorsch 2005-09-15 05:14:17 UTC
nope, didn't help and I did not expect it, as the output of the python update
simply outputted nothing:

king ~ # python-updater -o 2.2
 * Logging disabled due to permissions
 * Starting Python Updater from 2.2 to 2.4 :
 * Searching for packages with files in /usr/lib/python2.2 /usr/lib32/python2.2
/usr/lib64/python2.2 ..
 * Calculating Upgrade Package List ..
 * Re-ordering packages to merge ..
 * Preparing to merge these packages in this order:
 * Python update completed successfully.

Comment 5 Dead Schorsch 2005-09-15 08:59:20 UTC
Damn, looks like reason was a full filesystem, preventing appropriate
directories to be created.
