Description Dennis Schridde 2005-09-09 06:40:36 UTC
Wesnoth.org offers XDelta downloads, could you please add support for them to
the Wesnoth ebuild?
(Perhaps you can "steal" some code from the KDE eclass?)
As Wesnoth is getting bigger and bigger I think this is more than an
enhancement, so I mark it "Normal".

Reproducible: Always

No. There's no good, clean way to handle that situation. Frankly, if you can't
download 40M in a reasonable time, wesnoth updates are going to be the least of
your worries.
Comment 2 Dennis Schridde 2005-09-09 08:49:34 UTC
Erm... What?!
There are many DialUp users and Warzone itself doesn't need a cable connection
to be played.
I think telling me that a download of 40MB should not be a problem is a bit
bigheaded in my eyes...
The KDE ebuild maintainers got it to work also and their packages are even
smaller.

regardless, xdelta is something to be handled by portage, not ebuilds

search bugzilla for the status on this sort of feature
