I downloaded this doom trailer (http://www.doommovie.com/media/doom_trlr5_700k.mov) and find out that neither mplayer nor totem can open it. Did you try with the aac USE flag? look at this line: Requested audio codec family [faad] (afm=faad) not available. That's probably the problem.
