Description Tassilo Horn 2005-09-01 02:49:17 UTC
Since I updated to baselayout-1.12.0_pre7 net.lo doesn't get started while
booting. My eth-interfaces (one static ethernet card and a wlan card with dhcp)
seem to start normally.

The message I get when trying to start net.lo is:
root@inspiron> /etc/init.d/net.lo start
 * Starting lo
 *   Bringing up lo
 *     127.0.0.1/8
SIOCSIFADDR: File exists
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign requested address
SIOCSIFNETMASK: Cannot assign requested address
SIOCSIFBRDADDR: Cannot assign requested address
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign requested address

But it doesn't always fail. After 2 or 3 tries it starts up as expected:
root@inspiron> /etc/init.d/net.lo start
 * Starting lo
 *   Bringing up lo
 *     127.0.0.1/8
[ ok ]
 *   Adding routes
 *     127.0.0.0/8 ...

I didn't have this problem with baselayout-1.12.0_pre_6{-r*}

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. /etc/init.d/net.lo {re}start
2.
3.
