Hi!

Please find attached jgnash-1.9.2.ebuild and the shell script for its invocation.

jGnash is a personal finance application designed to run on operating system
with a working Java 1.4.0 or newer runtime. jGnash is known to work on Linux,
OSX and Windows, but there may be others. It is especially attractive (IMO)
because it does not have the large dependency lists of similar programs.

I suggest app-office/jGnash (gnucash and kmymoney2 are both filed in app-office).

Thanks, I learn more about the portage system every time I work with bugs/new
packages. I'll read through the rest of the faq tonight for future reference.
Updated ebuild being attached and reopening.

Just noticed a couple of typos:

* DESCRIPTION, last word.
* HOMEPAGE looks wrong.

Please reopen with a fixed ebuild and I'll tag as reviewed.

This really needs a bump. I'll bump and test and let you know.

bumped to jgnash-1.10.5. Works fine.

Just bumping the ebuild to 1.10.7 and it still works fine for me. I have problems where it will not use many gtk engines for its themes (xfce, clearlooks), but that is for upstream to deal with, not Gentoo.

I have a decent number of packages that have opened bugs on them requiring maintainers. I have basic programming skills and understand all but the most complex ebuilds. I was wondering how one would become a maintainer for these packages that have a demand? Unless real programming skills are required for some reason I would be more than happy to take on a lot of those that have demand.

Anyways, the ebuild works for 1.10.7.

Regards,
Doug

(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug)
'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached
to this bug.
This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the
main tree.
Heuristics show that no Gentoo developer has commented on your ebuild.

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild
submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely
manner. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The
sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to
commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry
into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this
and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)

Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us.
We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time.

Thanks,
On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team,
Jeremy.
