Description Horacio Hiroiti Sawame 2005-08-17 12:37:32 UTC
very low write speed for USB flash disk (pen drive) using kernel 2.6.12-r4/6/9

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.mount the pen drive with "mount /dev/myusbkey";
2.try to copy some file into pen drive;
3.

Actual Results:
Using kernel gentoo-source 2.6.11 or before read/write speed of pen drive is OK.
Using kernel gentoo-source 2.6.12 (r4, r6 and r9 tested) the write speed is very
low.
Using "uname -a ; time bonnie time bonnie -s 2 -m k7-11-r11" to test:

Using "uname -a ; time bonnie -s 1 -m k7-12-r9" with kernel 2.6.12-r9:

The chipset of this machine is nForce2.
The same thing happens in my home with a Athlon 64 (chipset VIA K8M800) running
x86 (not amd64 yet) Gentoo.

Expected Results:
As seen with the bonnie test with kernel 2.6.11 the write speed must be higher.
