Description Oliver Dietrich 2005-08-13 03:59:39 UTC
The compilation of the current stable version of qt (3.3.4-r3) fails during
compiling a subdirectory of mysql. So, I think, this is a problem with my USE-
Flags and QT. I can not copy and paste the error message in the console, but
there seems to be a problem with some pointers. The compiler complains about
some wrong '*' and '&'

My USE-Flags are: X aac acl acpi arts apache2 apm bzip2 crypt dri dvd encode ftp
gif gtk2 java javascript jpeg joystick kde mmx mono mozilla mp3 mpeg mysql ogg
opengl pcmcia php samba python sse svg unicase usb win32codecs x86 zlib

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge qt
2. Wait
3. Look at the message

Actual Results:
A compile error and make stopped to emerge qt

Expected Results:
Compile cleanly

Sry, I can't paste it without a GUI.

I used the default make.conf with the USE-Flags and i686 instead of i386

My USE-Flags are: X aac acl acpi arts apache2 apm bzip2 crypt dri dvd encode ftp
gif gtk2 java javascript jpeg joystick kde mmx mono mozilla mp3 mpeg mysql ogg
opengl pcmcia php samba python sse svg unicase usb win32codecs x86 zlib

Hmm, sorry, we cannot really fix anything with zero information available. You
can from console if you install sys-libs/gpm.
Comment 2 Oliver Dietrich 2005-08-13 04:13:44 UTC
Ok.
I'll install Gnome and post all required information tomorrow.
Comment 3 Oliver Dietrich 2005-08-15 11:34:24 UTC
Ok, I installed Gnome and now everything compiles fine without using 'emerge --sync'

It compiled after emerging gnome mozilla-firefox mozilla-thunderbird.

Perhaps everything is ok, perhaps it is a problem that qt only compiles after
emerging gnome.

Thx and greetings,
Oliver Dietrich

Output of emerge info is:
