Description Lars Weiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-23 16:31:28 UTC
In portage-2.0.19 there was a nice and very useful feature that used the
screen-titles like the xterm-bar, so that you can watch the status of an emerge
process even when you don't run X and screen only in a terminal.

It has been disabled for portage-2.0.22. Please re-enable it, I heard from many
users who found it useful when it has been introduced.

As a personal note I really rely on this feature during release-building. It
provides a quick status information without starting again and again a tail -f
on the emerge.log which will be created newly with every new catalyst-run.

I second that. This was really helpful during release building so far. Please
add it again :-)

or maybe add the code back in but disable it by default via features

i know theres limitations in its usage and i could really care less, it works
fine most of the time which is Good Enough For Me

No point in having two bugs for _exactly the same_ issue.
