Sure - I'd welcome suggestions too ;)

According the the package's readme, it should have use flags for:
php
python
ruby

It should also have a 'perl' use flag that emerges dev-perl/YAML-Parser-Syck.

syck-0.55.ebuild working ebuild

syck-0.55.ebuild is working, please add to portage. I did not enable use flags
for language bindings. The language binding I am using is PySyck-0.55.1.ebuild
submitted as a new bug, please include that in portage with syck-0.55, which is
a dependency.

Mass re-assign.

syck-0.55.ebuild for amd64

Added -fPIC flag for amd64 compilation. Previously, syck compiled, but the python interface complained about libsyck needing to be compiled with -fPIC.
