Which version of sys-apps/baselayout? Which version of net-wireless/ipw2200? Did you try rebooting after upgrading? Evidently the wpa_supplicant daemon will not load if the it can not find an AP with a matching ssid in /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf. I thought I would be able to use wpa_cli to configure and connect to a new access point interactively before adding it to the conf file. wpa_cli cannot be used this way until wpa_supplicant is loaded. Shouldn't the wpa_supplicant daemon load even if it can't find an AP with the right ssid? Then wpa_cli could be used in a similar fashion to iwconfig. I am using ipw2200-1.0.6 and baselayout-1.11.13 No, you will need to set up /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf prior to using wpa_supplicant as noted in the ebuild. |
