i get these errors when upgrading my glibc-2.3.4.20041102 to glibc-2.3.5. i cant
complete my emerge -uv --deep system because of this glibc problem.

1/ Remove fPIC from your C[XX]FLAGS.
2/ Upgrade linux-headers to 2.6.11-r2 and try again.

Reopen, if the problem still persists then.
