Description Michael T 2005-07-14 02:00:39 UTC
At present, ivman/hal will only automount on devices which are either
hot-pluggable or have an fstab entry. It might be nice if they were to
auto-create entries for non-hotpluggable media (i.e. fixed CD-ROMs) which
doesn't have an fstab entry as well. Tradition aside, in many cases, an fstab
entry is only really useful to decide where fixed media will be mounted into
the mount tree. People for whom it is important could still create an
overriding fstab entry.

If you are requesting new features, ask upstream...

Newer ivman releses depend on pmount to do exactly that .. pmount and newer
ivman are only available in the gentopia overlaay .. for reasons see the pmount
and hal bug.
Anyways this is really upstream, you should have mailed the ivman developer
about it.
