Deedra Waters (RETIRED)

I actually spoke with him last week. Despite the deceptive away message, which he says was to deter certain overenthusiastic people, he says he's not quit. Here's his email: On 6/29/05, Donnie Berkholz <spyderous@gentoo.org> wrote: > Someone pointed out your away notice. I'd like to hear what's going on > from you, since I never have. You just disappeared. Heh, the away notice .. well I wanted to make more of a stronger point to certain users. It may have been overkill, but anyway, I had my last exam yesterday infact so wouldve gotten back to you about things sometime this week. In regards to my current status, I have spare time again, so I can do whatever. I would assume a fair bit has changed in the last 5 months, and I had my -core subscription removed to avoid distraction, so I haven't really kept abreast of developments. I guess basically where I stand is subject to what you're looking for, and the returning from leave policies. Andrew Well, if he's interested in coming back after being gone for 6 months, then I'd still prefer his cvs access be frozen untill he's retaken the quizzes. He's admitted himself that he's not been active, and while i appreciate the fact he may not have had time, i don't think that he should be able to just wander back in like that after not committing for 4 months. It's nothing against him, but we're the ones who are going to get nailed if he comes back in and breaks the tree because he doesn't know what he's doing. Andrew: They'd like you to retake the quizzes. So when you can, please start on that. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/quiz/ has the quizzes and links to resources -- you'll have to do the ebuild quiz and the "end of mentoring" quiz, and send 'em to recruiters@g.o. If you aren't sure of your answers, feel free to find me on IRC and discuss them first. Yeah ok ill do them, however im off to work as a cook for a camp for the next week, ill do them and submit sometime after the 15th. After uni resuming this week and careful consideration I would like express regret; I am over committed already this semester and need to drop other activities, as I am not technically "commited" to Gentoo at the moment my involvment with the project must not resume. I did really enjoy working as part of the Gentoo team and have tried very hard to find ways to have time in my life to rejoin that team, but that is not going to happen any time soon. With this I tender my complete resignation; you may delete my d.g.o account and disable my forums.g.o account, I shall not be returning as cyfred again (not that I would be able to for at least 18 months). Thank you all and may the development teams endeavours continue to be prosperous. We still retiring this developer? Let me know when I can do my thing. Lance, do your thing.:) Done lcars: do your ML thing *bump* is mailinglists done? Retired on the forums. MLs look clean All done. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 34160 *** |
