Today when I was installing koffice, I noticed there was a koffice and a 
koffice-meta ... reading through the various ChangeLogs and bugs related to 
the ebuilds, I have come to find out that they are the same. 
 
Where the problem lies is that the 'koffice' package has a -r1, with notes in 
the ChangeLog like so: 
  +files/koffice-1.4.0-save.patch, +koffice-1.4.0-r1.ebuild: 
  Add patch to fix critical problem when saving from koshell. 
 
however, there is no -r1 for koshell 1.4.0, and nothing mentioned in the 
ChangeLog about it, so I assume this patch wasn't applied to the koffice-meta 
package.

It was applied: it went into koffice-libs, you can look at the ChangeLog 
there...

ahh, there it is.  I apologize for the bug report, and I will look more closely 
next time :)
