Looks like a duplicate of bug 90860, please check. This looks like a 64-bit issue. 90860 is 32-bit and refers to different symbols. same here. Is anybody working on this issue? emerge -vp xorg-x11 ati-drivers. If you have dlloader enable please disable it. The relink hack could appear again even if I'm not so happy about it *** Bug 115283 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I tried the solution you suggested (emerge xorg-x11 ati-drivers) but that's still a no go for me... I still have the unresolved symbols problem with xorg-x11-6.8.2-r6 and ati-drivers-8.20.8 altho version 8.19.10 works without any problems emerge info: Portage 2.0.53 (default-linux/amd64/2005.1, gcc-4.0.2, glibc-2.3.6-r0, 2.6.13-gentoo-r2 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.13-gentoo-r2 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ Gentoo Base System version 1.12.0_pre11 distcc 2.18.3 x86_64-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5-r2, 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.20-r1 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64 ~amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=k8 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -ftracer" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/splash /etc/terminfo /etc/texmf/web2c /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=k8 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -ftracer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/opsys/linux/gentoo/ ftp://gentoo.inode.at/source/" LINGUAS="de en" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="amd64 X alsa audiofile avi berkdb bitmap-fonts browserplugin bzip2 cdr crypt cups curl dvd dvdr dvdread emboss encode esd exif expat fam ffmpeg flac foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif glut gmp gpm gstreamer gtk2 idn imagemagick imlib ipv6 java jpeg junit kde lcms libwww lzw lzw-tiff mad mikmod mng mp3 mpeg ncurses nls nptl ogg oggvorbis openal opengl oss pam pcre pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline recode samba sdl slang spell ssl tcltk tcpd tetex theora tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev usb userlocales v4l vorbis wxgtk1 xine xml2 xmms xpm xv xvid zlib linguas_de linguas_en userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, MAKEOPTS I don't know that much of module-kernel programming, but my opinion is that this bug has nothing to do with my bug report #115283. I still try to figure out why that bug is a duplicate of this... The only common is unresolved symbols. BUT THEY are different... and my problem is related only to 8.20.8 and not any other version of the driver. All others work fine... And of course I don't use dlloader use flag... Please, test with up-to-date ati-drivers and xorg-server; this version in no longer in the tree. Thanks. |
