when starting gkrellm2 with the newsticker and "nptl" in useflags, gkrellm2 will die very fast. this behavoir could be successfully reproduced by at least one gkrellm2 user on freenode/#gentoo-amd64.

btw. the original developer of the "gkrellm-newsticker" hasn't been active for
over 3 years and even responded to an email from me. it seems he isn't really
working on it any longer. just that you know.

it segfaults @ line ~250 @ newsticker.c
but i dont have a clue why (and not the time to find out)
