Please paste your /proc/cmdline or the kernel command line options from grub. /proc/cmdline : root=/dev/hda1 video=vesafb:ywrap,1280x1024-32@75 splash=silent, fadein, theme:emergence quiet CONSOLE=/dev/tty1 (I'm using vesafb-tng) Also, I don't know if this is related, but looking back at the console after starting up, I notice this in the startup messages: /etc/init.d/splash: line 25: splash_setup: command not found This is definitely related. Could you please try remerging splashutils? It looks like /sbin/splash-funtions.sh is missing on your system. Re-emerging splashutils fixed it. I'm pretty sure splash-functions.sh wasn't there the first time around. Works now though. Thanks! Ok, closing the bug. |
