cooledit works fine on a Powerbook G3.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge app-edtors/cooledit-3.17.12
2.run cooledit
3.notice that it works fine

Actual Results:  
Cooledit ran as it was supposed to bug-free.

Expected Results:  
ditto

Maintainer arch has not marked it stable yet so we'll close it WONTFIX for now.
 Thanks for the report anyway. :)
