Bug 97091

Summary: xdm hangs during Xwilling script execution
Product: Gentoo Linux Reporter: Donny <traq9>
Component: Current packagesAssignee: Gentoo X packagers <x11>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE
Severity: normal
Priority: High
Version: unspecified

Description Donny 2005-06-26 00:21:36 UTC
xdm-config is setup to call Xwilling as such:
DisplayManager.willing: su nobody -c /etc/X11/xdm/Xwilling

The "nobody" account's shell is /bin/false and thus the `su nobody` command is
not possible. A quick fix is to comment out the line or remove the `su nobody`
portion of the command and just call `/etc/X11/xdm/Xwilling`

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge xorg-x11
2. turn on XDMCP for xdm
3. Connect to it via your favorite X client. (X, Xnest, etc.) :-)

Actual Results:
Indefinate timeout.

Expected Results:
XDM connect and login prompt.

xdm-config configuration file problem. Not an ebuild issue.
