Description Maciej J. Woloszyk 2005-06-24 06:56:02 UTC
I've just installed Gentoo on Sun Fire R280 server. As I was migrating
existing mail server I installed qmail-1.03-r15 as the mta. Ecerything seems
to work fine, but qmail spits a lot of "free(): invalid pointer" (or "ree():
invalid pointer") messages in various places - in logs, in server generated
mails (bounces, failures etc.) so I was wondering if there is something wrong
with my system or is it some problem with the qmail on Sparc.

Those invalid pointers come from the SSL patch and I experienced them myself on
sparc. Either use USE="-ssl" for qmail (man portage) or use qmail-1.03-r16,
which runs very smoothly on a sparc for me, with SSL/TLS.
