Bug 96908

Summary: Drupal 4.6.1 does not include extra modules and themes
Product: Gentoo Linux Reporter: Scott Yang <scotty>
Component: New packagesAssignee: Lim Swee Tat (RETIRED) <st_lim>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE
Severity: normal CC: web-apps
Priority: High
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Whiteboard:
Package list:
Runtime testing required: ---

Description Scott Yang 2005-06-23 17:05:36 UTC
When I emerge www-apps/drupal-4.6.1, without the 'minimal' USE flag, it does not
download the extra themes, theme engines, modules and language packs like how it
used to do in 4.5.2/4.6.0. It appears there lacks a 4.6.1/ directory in files.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" USE="-minimal" emerge '=www-apps/drupal-4.6.1'
Actual Results:
No extra modules/themes/language files in /usr/share/webapps/drupal/4.6.1

Expected Results:
Download them all from drupal.org

Had this bug catch me in a bad spot - I had let my system upgrade Drupal during
my normal overnight update, expecting it to be just fine -- the next morning I
had a conference call with a client for whom I was setting the drupal site up
for, and it caught me completely off guard to have everything completely broken,
EXACTLY when it needed not to be. This is a severe bug.

I second the proposal to reintegrate the list of modules/themes/lg packs into
the standard drupal install (or create a package named drupal-extras).

I am installing drupal today on my box to prototype a site and I am hesitating
between security and features here.
The prototype will be used to convince people drupal is the tool we need so I
need all bells and whistles to show what drupal can do. I will have to install
all packs by hand, which seems quite painful given the huge list in the 4.5.2
ebuild.

Also note that the problem also appear as of 4.6.0 (despite what reporter says).
Only 4.5.2 has the list of extras to install in the ebuild. 4.6.0 behaves as
4.6.1. The problem also occurs on 4.6.2.

Thanks for your concern here.

Hi folks,
I've integrated the modules as a script that you can run after installing drupal.

ebuild drupal.ebuild config

Pls verify that this works nicely for you.

Yeah, that indeed leaves loads of orphaned files on system when uninstalled... Duping against the QA bug.
