heh, this bug is sitting a while... No idea about this and I definitely won't install Xfce to reproduce. Is this still an issue for you, Nikhil? Is this still an issue for you, Nikhil? > No idea :) I havn't had KDE on my system for a long time now. *Compiling* and running KDE is even less appealing to me than installing XFCE is for you! (In reply to comment #2) > No idea :) I havn't had KDE on my system for a long time now. *Compiling* and > running KDE is even less appealing to me than installing XFCE is for you! "O.k." - haven't a clue about this weird problem, we've more pressing bugs and you're oviously not interested anymore. I was hit by this bug after: 1) Upgrade my AMD64 box from KDE-3.5.9 to the recently stabilized KDE-3.5.10. 2) Install and try XFCE for the first time in my life (always a KDE user before). 3) After playing a bit with xfce and going back to KDE, K Menu was all messed up, K menu entry "menu editor" did nothing after being clicked on and kcontrol showed no control panels at all. 4) Running "kbuildsycoca -noincremental" from within the messed-up KDE session as my normal user FIXED the issues. So, I think something must be done about it. Wow, this is a OLD bug. I no longer have easy access to a box where I can try to reproduce this bug. Sorry that I can not help you further, and appreciate that someone did finally look at it! |
