![]() You do not need to be a Gentoo dev to author and maintain a document. Please have a look at our policy (http://gdp.gentoo.org/doc/doc-policy.xml) to know more if you want to. Wedge's doc could be used instead of ours if he releases it under the cc-by-sa license. Then it can be GuideXMLified, either by Wedge himself if he wants to give it a try, or by any doc dev. I'd have no problem with using that license, but my FAQ wouldn't be a drop-in replacement for the existing one - it's focused on the ATI binary drivers and so wouldn't help people using the "radeon" driver on older cards. Well its title is "Gentoo Linux ATI FAQ" so it should cover everything Gentoo and ATI related - either merge the FAQs, or change the name, and have a placeholder pointing to the two seperate faqs. I've linked to the FAQ from the ATI FAQ. There isn't really a point in duplicating the FAQ if the Wedge FAQ is well maintained (which appears to be happening quite well). If Wedge ever stops maintaining it, we'd be glad to host and keep it on gentoo.org. Or, if Wedge doesn't mind putting the updates in through bugzilla, we would be glad to have it on gentoo.org officially. |
