genkernel works with either... You are *creating* the file when you redirect the output, so there's nothing incorrect in the Handbook. Also, bugs in the Handbook go to the docs-team, and actually have nothing to do with the LiveCD itself. No, it IS an error because the next install step prints out a status message saying that it is taking its input from the correct file name. Also, I've noticed that the on-line version of the handbook has the correct file name. So the Live CD is in fact in error. Well excuse me, then. No need to get snippy about it. Anyway, I'm assigning this to the docs team. We can't fix documentation that is hard-burned on the installation CDs... |
