If genkernel did build a VMware compatible kernel (i.e, when this bug is fixed), would there be a chance of having VMware certify Gentoo linux as a compatible host operating system? Don't know if this is even a desired outcome by Gentoo foundation, but wouldn't hurt I don't think. Try booting with doscsi as a param to the kernel. Please see comment #2, reopen if that doesn't help. This is fixed in the latest genkernel pre-releases. Also, it boots fine in VMWare, as we use VMWare for testing. You would still need to boot with "doscsi" for this to work. |
