ebuild for squeak-fullimage-3.7-5989
This ebuild in based on previous portage version, I just modified apropriate
version numbers and tested it to be working ok, which is.
Don't know about the "slot" setting since this and previous version both
install some files or links with the same name & location, so 3.6 and 3.7 slots
are not really isolated.
Added CCs with developers from ChangeLog. tantive, jared, please claim this bug, else remove the package. Created attachment 60747 [details]

Here's an ebuild for latest 3.7 Squeak VM.
This VM is meant for use with 3.8.x images.
Currently ebuilds for Squeak VMs have a dependency over virtual/squeak-image
(full & minimal image packages provides this virtual) but images ebuilds does
not contains any dependency declarations to specific VMs, which they actually
have (i.e. a >=3.8 image shouldn't be installed with a <3.7 VM), if maintainers
agree I can start fixing this situation.

Some Gentoo dev who will commit and maintain it... :=) While Squeak 3.8 image can be run with VM 3.7-7, it is also possible (though difficult!) to prepare a 3.8 VM. 1. Download the 3.7-7 sources as usual... 2. Sack /platforms/unix/src. (rm -rf it) 3. Using a previously installed Squeak 3.8 running on any usable squeak VM, download the latest "vmmaker" using Squeak's internal package loader. (currently 3.8b4) 4. Run "VMMaker" and configure it to point to the directory you have Squeak's source code in. 5. Generate the sources. 6. from the command line, make a "bld" directory somewhere and then, from that directory, run Squeak's configure script (/platforms/unix/config/configure) 7. make and test the new VM...
