HP EliteBook laptop with Radeon Vega; after resume from suspend or hibernate the backlight stays on high intensity. Control files under /sys/class/backlight/amdgpu_bl0/ show only the requested brightness, backlight stays close to 100%.

Also reported earlier on a Lenovo Thinkpad e495 and kernel 6.12.5 .

Turns out, it's a duplicate (but the other description was different).
There is a fix, queued for 6.12.9 but I don't see it lined up for 6.6.70 . Maybe 6.12.x will be fixed by the time Gentoo marks it stable, but 6.6.x is broken as of now.

Attaching a patch from my portage/patches/ . The diff is against 6.6.69 but the patch works fine on 6.6.67 . Now running 6.6.67, no issue.
