This patch fixes it for me, anyone experiencing the issue can use it as a user patch until the bug is fixed.
Thanks for the user patch. Noting the same issue and patch in NixOS here: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/348851 I think this only shows up with the "gui" use flag enabled, which might explain how it escaped into stable.
