Description Henti Smith 2005-05-31 04:48:17 UTC
Hi there,

We're a production company in South Africa doing 3D animation with Maya. We've
used the Maya ebuilds on gentoo from eradicator and I've helped him with them.

the problem is we're looking at moving all staff over to Gentoo, but I'm
reluctant to do this without support for Maya on gentoo.

Is there some way we can pay for an ebuild in a situation like this.

I'm sure somebody would not mine getting $100 for a ebuild when the latest
version of Maya comes out.

Suggestions?
Comments?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. ebuild works fine
2. Pay for ebuild
3. Everybody happy

Actual Results:
nothing yet .. but we're hoping ..

Expected Results:
1. ebuild works fine
2. Pay for ebuild
3. Everybody happy

Please mail me directly if this is outside of the "community" area, for instance
if you are willing to do this directly for us instead of as a member of the
gentoo developers community, tho I would not see why, since we'd rather have the
ebuild in portage then on our own little treee internally.

Henti, I don't think a bug report is the appropriate way to ask for this. Both
for you, reaching wide audience, and for the Gentoo community, not having a
policy regarding sponsoring of specific packages. Please ask in the gentoo-dev

Henti, I don't think a bug report is the appropriate way to ask for this. Both

mailinglist. Btw.: Paid support is nothing Gentoo as an entity can provide, but
that doesn't mean you can't donateĀ². :)
