Bug 94353 – zsnes 1.36 cannot find SDL

When compiling zsnes 1.36 on both x86 and amd64, SDL is not detected or is not
detected as greater than version 1.2.0.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. `emerge =zsnes-1.36`
Actual Results:  
checking for SDL - version >= 1.2.0... no
*** Could not run SDL test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means SDL was incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved SDL since it was installed. In the latter case, you
*** may want to edit the sdl-config script: /usr/bin/sdl-config
configure: error: SDL >= 1.2.0 is required

!!! ERROR: games-emulation/zsnes-1.36 failed.

Expected Results:  
Should have said the version number and actually finished compiling.

I know that there is 1.42 in portage that is not affected by this, but 1.36 has
much more stable netplay support.

Did you try to re-emerge libsdl?

Yes, it doesn't make any difference. I have 1.2.8-r1.
