Description Brett I. Holcomb 2005-05-28 17:31:48 UTC
I have a system with a SCSI hardware RAID - the RAID makes ukp device /dev/sda. I want to use EVMS on it but not use an initrd for it. I created partitions for /boot (/dev/sda1) and / (/dev/sda2) which is /mnt/gentoo at this point. However, EVMS can not handle the fact that /dev/sda already has two partitions. From what I can see looking at the docs and the forums it needs the bd-claim patch applied but that's not done on the LiveCD so how do I set up my EVMS without an initrd? The livecd doesn't give any options for that.

I get these errors

device-mapper: dm-linear: Device lookup failed
device-mapper: error adding target to table

Thanks.
