Howcome there isn't one? Currently the inform ebuild uses 6.21, and 6/11 libraries. But the new version has been around for ages.

What about importing the new sources from glen-hutchings?

The ebuild installs a bogus "inform" symlink.

Bogus how?  It looks good to me:
