Description gjy0724 2024-07-15 21:20:48 UTC
Per Hu (forum site administrator) suggestion via https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8833650.html#8833650, please have the superslicer ebuild modified so that it will not allow users to try a known-broken configuration of boost vs superslicer. Verions of SuperSlicer older than 2.5.59.0 seem to work with libboost older than 1.84, while SS v2.5.59.2 require libboost 1.84 or newer.

Thank you.

Looking back over elogviewer since I first installed

SuperSlicer (SS) 2.5.59.0-r1 installed with libboost (LB) 1.79.0-r1
SS 2.5.59.2-r2 installed with LB 1.80.0-r1
SS 2.5.59.2-r3 also installed with LB 1.84.0-r3

At this time it looks like SS 2.5.59.2 thru .8 will not install with 1.85.0-r1 which I currently have installed.

SS 2.5.59.8 was attempted using instructions from topic https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1167470.html, and based on the time frame of the topic LB 1.84.0-r1 would have been installed.

I think this is just a duplicate of bug 918510.
