segfaults like this during compile are usually caused by hardware issues. Try running memtest for a few hours and see if it picks up any problems. Also check for overheating issues on the CPU Indeed. It can also be caused by ridiculous CFLAGS. In any case, until this is reproducible for more than one person, closing as INVALID. memtest86 shows no errors in my memory. the cpu is at a stable temp and I've had no other issues thus far. MythTV 0.16 installed without any problems just now. CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -mcpu=i686 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" If someone else comes across this with the same issue then I hope to see this re-open. |
