According to transcode's 1.0.0_beta3 INSTALL file: Mandatory packages: libz libm (these generally come with any and all OSes) libavcodec from FFmpeg >= 0.9.1pre1 http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net/ related options: . . libmpeg2 from mpeg2dec >= 0.4.0b http://libmpeg2.sourceforge.net/ . . Trying to build transcode-1.0.0_beta3 without libmpeg2 installed returns the following configure errors: ERROR: requirement failed: cannot compile mpeg2dec/mpeg2.h mpeg2dec/mpeg2.h can be found in the following packages: mpeg2dec http://libmpeg2.sourceforge.net/ ERROR: requirement failed: cannot link against libmpeg2 libmpeg2 can be found in the following packages: mpeg2dec http://libmpeg2.sourceforge.net/ Just added >=media-libs/libmpeg2-0.4.0b to the dependency list and configure finished without errors. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. unmask media-video/transcode 2. emerge -av transcode 3. Actual Results: Configure failed.
