Comment 2 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2005-05-17 15:29:18 UTC
and if you try it with simpler CFLAGS ? say just '-Os -pipe' ?
Comment 3 Michael Ditum 2005-05-18 03:29:29 UTC
I tried it with...

CFLAGS="-march=i686 -Os -pipe"

and got the same error message
Comment 4 Michael Ditum 2005-06-07 11:16:53 UTC
I tried recompiling it with gcc 3.4.4 and it stopped with the same error.

I then tried emerge gcc 3.4.4 with...

CFLAGS="-march=i386 -Os -pipe"

and it completed fine... sorry if this is what you meant before...

any ideas?

Is this still a problem? I merged sys-devel/gcc-3.4.4-r1 a couple of days ago
with no problems (using CFLAGS="-march=i686 -pipe -O2"), then a day later set
CFLAGS="-march=c3-2 -pipe -O2" and it built without problems again. 'emerge info
' to follow.

Also, does sys-devel/gcc-3.4.3.20050110-r2 as well? And seeing the multitude of
versions currently marked for testing, shouldn't this bug be set to WONTFIX by
now?
Comment 8 Mark Loeser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-15 00:26:14 UTC
Sounds like its fixed in gcc-3.4.4. Reopen if its still an issue.
