The "imap" extension is being removed from PHP itself,

  * https://github.com/php/php-src/pull/13190
  * https://wiki.php.net/rfc/unbundle_imap_pspell_oci8

I already filed a bug against upstream Davical:

  https://gitlab.com/davical-project/davical/-/issues/324

but if you really want to keep imap support working in the meantime, you'll probably want to package that PECL extension. If you do, I'll drop USE=imap from dev-lang/php early. Otherwise it will go away (upstream) with the next major version php-8.4.
