The recent profile switch to 23.0 drops "fortran" as a default USE compared to 17.0, so by default openmpi will be compiled without fortran support, but the mumps package expects fortran support in openmpi if the "mpi" USE flag is enabled without checking for it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set profile to 23.0 2. Check that fortran has not manually been set 3. Emerge openmpi (check fortran USE flag disabled, as is default) 4. Emerge sci-libs/mumps with the mpi USE flag enabled Actual Results: Compilation fails. Error message is mpif90 -O2 -pipe -fno-strict-aliasing -fallow-argument-mismatch -DALLOW_NON_INIT -fPIC -I. -I../include -I/usr/include/scotch -Dpord -Dptscotch -c double_linked_list.F -o
