As of a recent update (some?) meson packages (e.g. x11-libs/pango) fail when -fvirtual-function-elimination or -fwhole-program-vtables are in CFLAGS.

I would guess that the relevant commit is 5e7b32c59d53f8240dfd7a17e31fc533fa811f75 and that the reason is b_lto does not add -flto during configuration.

Please include emerge --info and an example build.log & meson-log.txt.
