Bug 92547 – Emerge error gimp-2.2.6-r1, configure fails

When I emerge gimp (2.2.6-r1), the build fails at the configure step. It seems the XML::Parser perl module can't be found.

I have tried emerging libxml-perl which seems to contain the module, even though libxml-perl isn't listed as a dependancy, but this didn't solve the problem.

run:

/usr/portage/dev-lang/perl/files/perl-cleaner --help

need to rebuild perl modules after upgrade.
