It would be nice to have jakarta cactus ebuild in gentoo. Cactus is a simple test framework for unit testing server-side java code (Servlets, EJBs, Tag Libs, Filters, ...) and it is based on JUnit (that is already in Portage).

I started making an ebuild for this package, but we're going to need a few new
packages. They are (at least):

httpunit: http://httpunit.sourceforge.net/
nekohtml: http://people.apache.org/~andyc/neko/doc/html/

These needed ebuilds are now part of java experimental overlay so if you have an ebuild I would be glad to test it.

Feel free to contribute an ebuild. The Java Team is currently preoccupied with preparations for migrating to our new build system, to accomodate Java 1.5 and beyond.

I'd like to but I cannot write ebuilds. You wrote that you started making an ebuild so I thought you have something that just has to be finished. If so then you could send me your ebuild and I will try to move it forward.

Bug 154044 has to be closed or you need to get that ebuild from there.
