Re-assigning, because mozilla herd doesn't maintain it. koleri and fserb, I believe the problem with this is that it won't work with >=wxGTK-2.6. It also doesn't work with multiversion installs of wxpython, which is what Gentoo has now, so it must depend only on =dev-python/wxpython-2.4.2.4. The 2.4.2.4-r2 version is multiversion and installing wxMozilla will actually break other wxpython apps because it creates a wxPython dir in site-packages. I just read on wxpython-dev yesterday that the author is releasing a new version soon to deal with the multiversion issue. Yes; it's now released and (hopeuflly) works with both wx-2.4 and wx-2.6 (the latter preferred, future versions will drop 2.4 support). Created attachment 59263 [details, diff]
wxmozilla-wxpy-2.4.patch
Come to think about it, 0.5.4 doesn't work with wxPython 2.4 w/ multiversion.
Attached patch fixes it for Gentoo, but it breaks things if wxPython is _not_
multiversion, so it needs new enough wxPython 2.4.
Vaclav, the patch helps. Attaching a bumped ebuild that uses it, and compiles and seems to work ok. Created attachment 59320 [details]
wxmozilla-0.5.4.ebuild
FYI, 0.5.5 is out, doesn't require any ebuild changes. Added 0.5.4 to portage with patch. I've fixed the wxGTK deps on 0.5.3, but can't reproduce the error. Please test it if possible. wxmozilla emerged fine for me. |
