Note that by default the ebuild sets +system-toolchain, but I imagine this is a flag users want to toggle. Maintainer decides whether it's important enough to block stabilization. We can also mask the flag on stable, or it of course can be fixed if it's easy. Closing this as some troubleshooting has already been performed under the duplicate bug. Still no idea what's causing this, but the big system-toolchain/google-toolchain changes have settled for 121.0.6167.129 (since that got released while troubleshooting) so we'll abandon the current stablereq and go for that instead.
