I've removed the file and synced and still the problem exists.

Looks just fine here. Which mirror are you using?

I am using rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage
After syncing again this is solved. The problem is that I don't know the broken mirror because this server always redirects me somewhere.

marking as needinfo then, the file in the cvs is correct. i guess the broken one will be replaced with a valid copy.
