I tried to reproduce this in my qemu env but was unable to and got a successful compile so can you please share some more information about the build system.
Using app-emulation/qemu-8.1.3

dev-lang/perl-5.38.2::gentoo was built with the following:

This is apparently caused by "-z relro -z now" in the 23.0 profiles. I added a hack that disables RELRO for m68k only (and only because it's m68k). Then perl builds and seems to "work". Obviously something is very broken here, needs investigation. If there's a bug in binutils here then it exists in mold too, because the build breaks with that too but works with norelro. Note that mold enables relro by default. mold din't used to run under m68k without the alignment change, but it seems to work now. I should also add that I've been using mold for m68k for a while, albeit when cross-compiling, and I haven't seen any issues like this, so maybe it's quite specific to Perl. Still hitting this? |
