![]() Depends upon the PROM revision you're using. The limit can be 1GByte, 2GBytes or something like 137GBytes. Any chance we can point our users to a list with PROM versions and the matching limit? i.e. is there such a list? There's no list that I'm aware of. Basically, all sun4u PROM revisions that are capable of booting linux have a high enough limit that you don't need to care about it, so it's only sun4[cdm] that might need to worry. And there, if you're unsure, then assume 1GByte. Can the sparc team propose a documentation change or mark this bug whatever it needs to be marked as? I'll update the guide and harass whoever I need to harass to get the necessary information :) I've included Ciaran's information in the handbook (sun4[cdm] stuff). I believe this should be sufficient; if not, just reopen. |
