I would guess that you have installed an older version of setuptools outside of Portage, possibly by accident. The use flag is masked for a reason. I haven't had the time or interest to really make it work, and especially now it seems like the pip integration is just getting stronger and stronger. I fear the system-python-libs was a broken experiment and will not ever be finished by the looks of it. Or we need to somehow always carry custom pip patches. I don't know, haven't really followed what happens there in many releases. But the use flag is masked so it's known "not to work". |
