Thanks, I've got the tab open still. I'll look at it tonight. If it helps, squid-6.2.ebuild renamed to squid-6.3.ebuild works well. Changes in squid-6.3 (03 Sep 2023): - Bug 5294: ERR_CANNOT_FORWARD returned instead of ERR_DNS_FAIL - Bug 4981: Work around in-call job invalidation bugs - basic_smb_lm_auth: fix 'no previous declaration' warnings - CacheManager: require /squid-internal-mgr/ URL path prefix - ESI: Fix build [-Wsingle-bit-bitfield-constant-conversion] - ... and some documentation changes I'll handle the PR (for real this time) later. 6.3 work fine 6.4 may fails: https://bugs.squid-cache.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5309 6.5 "scheduled 6.5 release on Nov 5" quote from maillist Thanks for pointing that out, I've been watching that bug since then; seems like they are becoming confident in their fix for the 6.4 issues. Haven't seen a restatement/confirmation of the Nov 5 target for 6.5 release yet. Will keep watching; it does seem like there's a combination of patches that can be applied to 6.4 so we might go with that if 6.5 gets delayed. (In reply to Maxim Britov from comment #4) > 6.3 work fine > 6.4 may fails: https://bugs.squid-cache.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5309 > 6.5 "scheduled 6.5 release on Nov 5" quote from maillist OK, squid 6.5 is out now, and it seems to fix https://bugs.squid-cache.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5309#c32. I'll put it through the wringer tomorrow/later today and then finally get it in.
