I tried installing Gentoo from scratch, and followed the installation guide step by step. Bootstrapping went just fine. However, "emerge -e -f system" aborted on gzip, complaining that gzip_3.1.5.orig.tar.gz was missing. It is indeed not listed in the Manifest.

"emerge gzip" (on a new system)

Expected Results:  
Install without a glitch, preferably within 12 minutes. :-)
