You can avoid this error by setting LANG to a UTF-8 locale. Based on emerge --info, you currently have LANG="en_US" (no UTF-8). Apparently he's intentionally using a non-UTF-8 locale... See https://bugs.gentoo.org/913655#c5 Honestly, I think this is a make-work project. It's just creating work for maintainers for basically no benefit. |
